Untamed Bali: Viceroy Bali Hotel

Posted in Getaways & Vacations on October 21, 2011

Relax in the jungle

Indonesia offers two completely different worlds: a natural and untamed landscape untouched by the hand of man, and a really New-Age modern city experience that is both first and third world at the same time. The country is vibrant, the people are friendly and accessible, and the furniture is simply divine. This is the most impressive of the Bali bunch…

The Viceroy Bali Hotel offers a heady mix of romance and exoticism in an idyllic setting. Lush green vegetation is punctuated with shocking pink wild orchids that seem to pop out of nowhere. It’s a luxurious piece of paradise best served chilled out and lying down- on a sun lounger preferably.

The hotel is modern and features trendy Asian decor which gives it a unique feel. It’s luxurious and trendy but still has a modest feel to it.

Neutrals and soothing sounds

You can sample delicious local flavours at CasCades Restaurant, where award-winning French and pan Asian delicacies are on the cards. Romantic dining experiences are also available and are highly recommended.

There’s plenty to do if you’re the adventurous type and you can enjoy the novel experience of learning Balinese dancing if you want to get in touch with local culture. Be warned though, this isn’t for the faint hearted. The costumes are bright and colourful so there’s no falling under the radar, so to speak. Everyone’s going to be able to see you trying it out! It’s fun and it’s different and well worth a go.

Speaking of culture, the hotel is just five minutes’ away from Ubud, a local village renowned for the quality of its artists.

You can also learn and explore the culture and history behind the East’s staple food- rice. Go on a rice paddy trek for something completely different. The hotel is 45 minutes away from Ngurah Rai International Airport.
