The Plaza New York is one hotel which has come up trumps in matters of innovative personalized service with the privacy and convenience of the guest top most on their list of services. The Plaza Hotel has made an Apple iPad available to each of its guests in his/her room. This iPad availability is for the sole purpose of allowing the guest to chart his/her stay and make the most of the different services that the hotel offers its guests – all from the privacy of one’s room and at the touch of one’s fingertips.

The iPad features include a video welcoming the guest and also includes services like keeping in touch with the front desk, requesting room service, requesting wake up calls, making special reservations to the restaurant, checking out travel guides to the city, looking at schedules for concerned airlines, getting boarding passes printed, etc.

The Apple iPad installed in the room allows the guest to control the lighting, room temperature, etc so the guest can choose his/her own comfort level.

The ICE (Interactive Customer Experience) feature of the iPad allows the guest to interact with the hotel’s virtual concierge and fulfill their needs directly from the concerned department and also helps the hotel to share a one on one relation with the guest. The iPad service, however, does not take away the personal touch by making the butler or the concierge available to the guest if they so desire.

The iPad facility at the plush Central Park Plaza Hotel is a first for the hospitality industry and is here to stay and its popularity with the guests has helped to increase the exclusivity factor of the hotel.
