With just 15 rooms and suites the Louise is as spacious and exclusive as it is private and unassuming. It’s a modern boutique hotel that captures the beauty of the Barossa Valley.
Barossa Valley is home to more than 1000 wineries and no less than 60 cellar doors, many of which are boutique offerings, as well as the bigger more commercial producers. The area is scenic and beautiful and looks almost as good as the tastes that it produces.
If you want to explore the outdoors in more depth you can go for helicopter rides, hot air ballooning excursions, golf or The Louise can arrange for a heritage tour. There are also divine farmers’ markets to wander through and cycling for those with a bit more energy.
The Apellation, the in house restaurant, generates a peaceful and intimate environment which is ideal for romantic evenings. The menu features local fare, which changes daily according to the availability of fresh, seasonal produce.
One of the highlights is an early morning picnic adventure up, close and personal with local marsupials, making it a brunch with a difference. You can also chill out in the fresh air under a gazebo or catch a relaxing massage to make it all soak in a bit easier.
The Louise is located about 75-minutes by road from Adelaide Airport and offers an on-site helipad for quicker, more stylish arrivals.
The Barossa Valley spans 56-kilometres or 35 miles and is home to a well entrenched wine industry that was initiated by early German settlers many years ago. The hot climate is great for grape growing, especially cultivars with lots of sugar and little acidity, although the areas with higher altitude usually enjoy cooler conditions. Its most famous export is Shiraz but Semillon, Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah tastes just as good.
