The D&G Gold Restaurant

It seems as though there might as well be no end to the corners and horizons that Dolce and Gabbana reach out to. The Italian designers have come to grasp another star from their horizons when they opened up the D&G restaurant. Just like their designs this restaurant is an elegant and ostentatious mix of gold – as the name suggests.

The Italian designers Steffano Gabbana and Dominico Dolce have once again managed to capture the eyes of the audience, but then again so would I have if I owned a restaurant made of gold!

After their big success of the Gold Motorola RAZR V3 they have hit the mother load with this latest venture of theirs. The Gold restaurant is located in Via Poerio in Milan. Milan is known for being the fashion central and what better place to open up a new glitzy restaurant with an entirely gold interior than that?

Of course D&G have spared us the moment of jealousy by clarifying that the restaurant’s furnishings are not exactly all gold. The restaurant seats 202 just behind the Metropol show space it also sports a first floor gourmet restaurant, a casual bistro on the ground floor and a small food shop that carries items from Gold’s Mediterranean menu.

Thanks to the possible gold finishing everything gleams in a glitzy yellow hue. But then what would you except the restaurant is called ‘Gold’! it is the ultimate and eternal symbol of luxury and money, not long ago all the countries in the world had gold reserves that backed up their funds, maybe that’s one of the reasons why the inflationary theory wasn’t invented until 1929! However that only just proves the undeniable impressions of wealth that gold brings, whether it be phones, jewelery, clothing or even a restaurant’s décor.

According to the site, the gold theme décor is not to put up one hell of an ostentatious show, and neither is it there to symbolize wealth and luxury. As the website defines it, this particularly expensive theme was used as it has “an upbeat, sunny color” that helps in signifying a particularly expensive “taste for beauty and for sensual pleasure.” How about using lemon yellow, that’s an ‘upbeat’ color as well! But in all fairness, jealousy aside the restaurant looks fantastic, and it definitely is bright and beautiful.
Customers went home happy after a night out at the Gold restaurant, the cuisine has been rated excellent and the service is immaculate, with pretty waitresses and handsome waiters moving at your will, while you dine at the Gold restaurant. What could be more perfect?
