Paris is where the Shangri La group of hotels have chosen to open their first boutique hotel, the Shangri La Paris. This hotel which opened its doors in 2010 is the first word luxury and opulence. True to the former owner, Rolland Bonaparte’s antecedent, Napoleon Bonaparte, who had a great love for luxury, this hotel is a a reflection of all things grand and exclusive.

The Shangri La Paris may be a small hotel when compared to other hotels but it makes up for this with plush interiors done up by Pierre–Yves Rochon, the 81 rooms of the hotel are striking in their luxurious feel. The La Suite Imperiale – Prince Roland’s private living space with its dressing room, opulent moldings and towering ceilings and wonderful views of Paris and La Suite Panoramique which has a terrace from where the Eiffel Tower and the Seine are visible are of special mention.

Set amidst the museums of Paris, close to the Trocadéro, the Shangri La Paris has a secluded garden done up by Louis Benech, the renowned landscape designer which has a profusion of exotic and unique plants making for a lush setting in the warmer summer months.

The restaurants, La Bahuinia, Restaurant l’Abielle offer the most delectable dishes on their menu which can be savored amidst royal settings and their latest offer is the Shang Palace, their Cantonese restaurant, which will open doors sometime this year. Their lounge bar Le Bar set in rich Empire style décor is a great place to spend a leisure evening enjoying some of the best wines from their cellar.

Shangri La Paris has an enormous indoor pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center and a spa which offers the finest treatments available in the isolation and comfort of the guest’s room.
