Created by luxury property developer Ravenspur Investments, the Palmetto Bay Resort in the Placencia Peninsula in Southern Belize is the first eco-luxury resort in the Caribbean Islands. Featuring geothermal solar and water filtration technologies, the resort contributes towards water conservation, as well as financial conservation.

“The green aspects of our development were created to provide a saving on maintenance and consumption while leaving as small an impact on the environment as possible,” said developer Carlton Watson.

Water is saved due to underground water holding tanks installed to catch the used water from showers and sinks. A separate tank has also been installed to capture rainwater, which replenishes the pool.

The resort has two and three-bedroom condominiums currently for sale, starting at $300,000. There is to be a fitness center, business center and health club as part of the resort experience. The luxury homes will also feature fully equipped gourmet kitchens.

  • That’s just about the best location for a purrrrrrfect holiday, especially now that winter’s just round the corner. I can’t believe such a perfect place actually exists.
