Oscar de la Renta, a prominent name in the fashion world is a designer whose designs are worn by celebrities and the rich and famous alike. His exclusive collections are always looked forward to and the Spring 2012 Tea Party Bridal Collection is no different.
The show, with a little girl tea party set up where the sophisticated little ladies dream up their wedding gowns showcased on the runway, all this while enjoying a nice garden tea party between lavender and freesia was something wonderful only the showman could dream up.

Just as striking and plush were the wedding gowns that were displayed on the runway. A blend of effervescent youth and subtle sophistication, these gowns have the signature stamp of the elegance and uniqueness that an Oscar de la Renta creation exudes.
Full length outlines and splendid skirts with frills and ruffles looking like the petals have found a new home on the skirt. A bolero and scarf of rabbit hair is a throw back to the small adorable furry creatures that hop around amidst the grass and spring flowers of the garden.

Except for a knee length strapless dress in light blue with a ruffled skirt and a few silk organza gowns in pink, the other 37 lush, vibrant gowns are in pristine white – a traditional color for wedding gowns. Ruffles and frills are very prominent in most of the gowns enhancing the fairy tale like theme of the evening.
The gowns also feature angular styles and a dominant square neckline for some gowns while the rest are strapless with open necklines.

Oscar de la Renta is always known for his elegant lines and defined cuts and the 2012 Bridal collection is all about the elegance and joie de vivre of youth which has been captured beautifully in these swish wedding gowns.
