When you think hotels, you think of high power consumption, food that’s wasted, luxurious living and lots more. How would you like it if you were told that the hotel you were living in generated power? We all know that hotels consume large electricity units, in an attempt to keep their residents comfortable. Being a power plant is much better than relying on your local power station and being a high user. This definitely is a welcome change and we do hope other 5 star hotels too follow in the same direction.

The hotel designed by Christine Hadiningrat and Sauter Carbon Offset Design have come up with a 5 start hotel in Bali that’s one of a kind. In fact the Bali Net Zero Hotel Resort and Spa is the only hotel that powers itself using solar energy. It’s a 5 star luxury resort and spa that the rich and famous are sure to enjoy. Apart from being environmental friendly it also works as a self sustainable power plant for communities around it. Every floor has its own solar panel to draw in energy.

Excellent design ensures that guests can choose between ocean view, plunge pools with Jacuzzi, spa etc etc suites. It also has a tennis court that is fully air conditioned a beauty clinic and spa apart from several other facilities that are enjoyable. Seems like this hotel has pledged itself to doing good for its community, the energy generated from their in-house power plant will obviously be used in the hotel, the extra units will be sold off to their local community. The money earned will be put to good use like building of schools, infrastructure and even community centers.

The founder of Sauter Carbon Offset Design, has tremendous plans for Bali, and hopes that one day; Bali is recognized on the map as an Eco Friendly Tourist destination.
