Maestro Dobel Diamond Tequila

Posted in Wines & Spirits on September 2, 2008

A unique tequila blended from Resposado, Anejo and Extra Anejo made from perfectly grown and handpicked Agave. Distilled aged and brought to you the best possible quality hand labeled with the exact date, bottle and the ranch. Maestro Dobel wants you to enjoy this perhaps the finest tequila in the world.

The practice of aging tequila began because scotch, bourbon, and whiskey exceeded in popularity over tequila in Mexico and manufacturers had to find a way to compete in the market. Hence they devised the Reposado and Anejo tradition.

Reposado (“rested”) – aged a minimum of two months, but less than a year in oak barrels.
Añejo (“aged” or “vintage”) – aged a minimum of one year, but less than 3 years in oak barrels.
Extra añejo (“extra aged” or “ultra aged”) – aged a minimum of three years in oak barrels.

By the way, In United States, National Tequila Day is July 24

We are told or perhaps we are sold on the clarity of this tequila, the crispiness of herbal and citric aromas. The complexity and the craftsmanship of the bottle. Sounds delicious but I really do wonder how much of this is really marketing. There is no set precedence after all for this drink. There is no following, or earned respect. Just like a gifted yet unknown artist may not be with all the hype, at least not just yet.

  • The photography makes me want to reach out and grab a virtual bottle. Screwdrivers (vodka and orange juice used to be my fave drink. I always convinced myself that the more orange juice I drank the healthier I’d be. Dang, it didn’t prevent that morning after headache. Now I drink less but enjoy it more. I just think I’ll try this crisp and clear brand. Maybe come back and let you know how I liked it.

  • The photography isn’t the problem. What about alcoholics who struggle to not think about their next drink. No one cares especially advertisers.

  • To Jeana,
Get a life girl. He’s responsible for drinking or not. Love the black and white only concept. Have what ya want an walk home.

  • Stuff looks beautiful. Next time I take my wife out to dinner I’ll ask for our vodka gimlets to be made with it. Maybe I’ll ask for a straight shot. My bad.

  • Note to perowlifick2,
Vodka and Tequila are both clear liquid and there the resemblance ends. I too was so focused on that great photography that I forgot what the product is. :) Cheers.

  • Maestro Dobel Diamond Tequila Reposado was reviewed and placed in the top ten on one site. It was rated 92.9 of a possible 100.
Next time I attend a dinner I’ll plunk down $70 to $100 and take a bottle as a hostess gift (and hope she looks up the price).

  • Great advertising shots. Sequencing good if one can afford the space required.

  • The background with the bottle seeming to blend with it is a classy way to demand attention. As for the tequila itself labeling the bottle with dates, names Reposado for example indicates pride in product. I will try this brand for my next gathering of friends.

  • Age it dond age it – I chug it down shot after shot. The bottle is kinda prety, think I’ll go out for my morning drinks now.

  • The practice of listing the period of aging and stating that it is aged in oak barrels designates it as a very distinguished tequila. Packaging will look prestigious at my next dinner party. I do wonder though about the worm supposedly in the bottom of a bottle of tequila.

  • Not to worry Donalda. They don’t charge extra for the worm. Muahhhhhaha. Let’s all get schnookered and have a big old group chat about booze.

  • Gorgeous photos – I’m not a big tequila fan but I’d try this stuff. I love the shot the alcohol being poured!

Jeana – If you know anything about addicts, you would know that they have to learn to say no. The entire world is not going to stop drinking because someone has a problem.

  • Normally I prefer bright and cheery ads but these dark photos do well for the tequila.
