LushWheels: Audi A5 as 2009 Design of the Year for Automobile Magazine

It’s been the second year running now for Audi USA to win Automobile Magazine’s well-respected awards for car design. (Last year was the Audi R8 as Design of the Year and Car of the Year).

This year the editors from Automobile Magazine were practically smitten with the A5’s “perfect execution.”

“The A5’s elegance, stability, and sheer visual presence make it a clear winner,” said Robert Cumberford, Automobil Magazine’s Design Editor.

Management at the top of the Audi empire couldn’t have been more pleased with yet another award under their belt.

“The graceful, yet precisely drawn, lines of the A5 epitomize the way a progressive coupe should look,” said Audi Executive Vice-President Johan de Nysschen. “All of its elements – powerful surfaces, a front end that speaks to pure performance, lighting that blends style with function among many other features – unite Audi style and dynamic performance.”

The A5 comes with a 3.2 Liter FSI engine and reaches 60 mph in 6.1 seconds.
