Donald Trump received approval from Scottish council to develop what he calls “The world’s greatest golf course.” Much debate had been going on about whether or not council should have approved his plans as the land situates itself on a significant section of Scottish sand dunes said to be of scientific investigative value.
Trump said that the golf course, club house and hotel development will “improve the natural environment.” After much debate the Scottish ministers did resolve in declaring that the development’s social and economic benefits were to outweigh the risks of environmental damage.
Work has been scheduled to begin next Spring, and the construction bill for the resort is currently estimated at around £1billion.
Locals had emailed local Scottish councillor Martin Ford, expressing their desire for Trump’s development plans to be approved.
Trump currently has golf clubs in Bedminster, Canouan Island, Colts Neck, Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, Westchester and West Palm Beach.
