They seem to be popping up all over the world the way MacDonalds used to – fashion designer hotels, that is. The pioneer of them all was Gianni Versace with his Palazzo on the Gold Coast, Australia.

Now many more designers have either been in collaborations with other hotel franchises or, like Giorgio, are planning to have their own luxury resort and lifestyle empire.

Currently construction has begun in Dubai and Milan, and there is much anticipation for the eventual unveiling of both.

The Dubai Armani Hotel will be part of the Burj Dubai, expected to hold the record as the world’s tallest residential and commercial tower.

Armani Residences have also been planned for construction in Marassi, Egypt, in partnership with Emaar Properties PJSC.
