LushBling: Saks Snowflakes inspired by Marian Bantjes illustration
Saks Fifth Avenue has a new collection of holiday season exclusively designed Snowflake brooch jewelry. 11 brands including Graff, Gurhan and Marco Bicego were invited to created one-of-a-kind brooches inspired by the snowflake illustrations of artist Marian Bantjes.
Marian Bantjes worked on the Want It campaign for Saks Fifth Avenue which featured her lettering and beautiful swirl motif on the window displays, store catalogs and shopping bags.
For more inspiration (and things to buy), Marian Bantjes’ web site is filled with her latest art projects and other collaborations. The Canadian-born designer has a distinctively whimsical feel to her work, and is internationally recognised as a world-class visual designer.
Bantjes has been called “one of the most innovative typographers working today” by Stefan Sagmeister, music album designer to such bands as Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones.
The Saks Fifth Avenue Snowflakes will each feature gemstones and be travelling through the chain’s network of stores this month. Prices range from $12,500 (Roberto Coin red enamel snowflake) to $77,200 (Chopard’s gold and diamond pendant).
