In fact, Cumberland Hotel is proud to hold a unique position in the history of rock n’ roll for the hotel was the last address of Hendrix before he died an untimely death on September 18 1970. The Octagon Bar in the hotel is known for its extensive and delicious cocktail menu. Die-hard rock star fans can book a penthouse and show off their musical skills on the grand piano.

The Chelsea Hotel has been dubbed as New York’s number 1 rock star hotel and remains almost unrivalled. The hotel has opened its door several times to many celebrities including Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Patti Smith. It is said that every room in this hotel has a tale behind it.
