Judith Leiber’s Genie Lamp called Habibi

Posted in Antiques & Collectibles on May 27, 2011

We’ve all been bought up on tales of magic, fantasy, prince, princess and genies. One such tale made famous by Disney is Aladdin and the Magic Lamp. It’s characters like the genie, the beautiful princess Jasmine the flying carpet etc all added to the fantastic tales told.

Although the Aladdin series has moved on from the original story, we still like the one that held a lot of mystic. It was the same time when Aladdin discovered the magic lamp, discovered the genie and was introduced to the pretty Jasmine.

For those who want a slice of magic in their lives can now get an accessory that will remind them of their funny little comic genie and the whole Aladdin crew. You might also like to use it as an accessory for some fairytale princess themed party or even if you plan to look like a princess on your prom night.

Created by Judith Leiber, this Genie Lamp is called the Habibi that is very special. Its studded with the most stunning precious stones in joyful and colourful patterns. The pattern on the lamp has been inspired from those used in carpets that come from the Middle East.

This little Magic Lamp also called the minaudière  has a tiger’s eye precious stone along with several other semi precious stones that are appropriately mixed with several other crystals; that are of different sizes to complete the design.

This is a nice little sized lamp, and we are not too sure if a genie appears once you rub it, but it sure look superb and makes an awesome collectible. This is a 9.5 inch in width, with a height of 4.375 and depth of 3 inches that comes in a Dora Multicolored purse.

This Magic Lamp comes at a cost of $5,995, which is pretty reasonable for those interested in adding a slice of magic in their lives.
