Growing up listening to The Beatles singing on your radio was a lot of fun. The whole, la-di-da-da melody was hard to get off your mind and lips. Not forgetting a few intoxicating ones like “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”. As you grew to be a teenager, you were told of what the song meant (which was wrong). Well whatever it was, that was the generation that Rock n Roll was at its peak, and The Beatles music although very simple and light, can easily transcend down through the ages.

One man who deserves the ultimate credit for giving the legendary band the status that they earn today is singer, musician, lyricist, peace activist and Dreamer, John Lennon. If you want to grab a piece of this legendary artist who is still spoken of because of his varied talents then grab a seat on May 14th for the auction. The Imagine singer as we all knew penned quiet a few famous songs for The Beatles and even during his solo career. This time going under the hammer is his handwritten lyrics for “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.”
This single was from the album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and is considered to be one of the best songs in the album. Well we spoke about teen years and the interpretation of this particular song and links to LSD. However those are all wrong. The lyrics were infact inspired by Lennon’s son’s Julian’s nursery school painting that also had the same name. A very innocent song, come to think of it!

The handwritten lyrics will be auctioned by Profiles in History at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, Ca. The estimated price this sheet will fetch is anything between $200,000 – $300,000. If you can’t own the lyrics page or even the other items that will be auctioned on the same day, you could still check out the preview where all the auctioned masterpieces will be put up on display. However getting to the auction is only by invitation and if you need one you have to call the office soon!
