Renowned as one of New York’s greatest landmarks and home-away-from-home of many stars, world leaders and other important personnel throughout history, The Plaza Hotel is determined to continue its luxurious reputation with its $400 million renovation.
And what a renovation. Now, every luxurious guestroom has 24-carat gold plated Sherle Wagner faucets, hand crafted white marble vanities, signature Miller Harris toiletries exclusive to Plaza guests, 100% cotton Mascioni bath towels and linen, and white glove butler service on every floor.
Along with the gorgeous classic interiors, there is plenty of modern amenities. High definition TV, wireless internet, a touch panel remote which allows customization of the lighting, heating and also connects to the hotel’s services, and a world class entertainment system.
The Plaza suites are twice the size of guestrooms and have an additional powder room and Butler’s Pantry. 3-bedroom suites with 3-bathrooms are also available.
The Plaza Hotel is also featured in the recently released new comedy, Bride Wars, as the place of ultimate perfection for any woman’s dream wedding.

Rated highest in Michelin Guide 2008’s Tokyo luxury hotel category, The Peninsula Tokyo is considered one of the “grand dames” of the city. It’s no surprise that bookings run out well in advance and that prices start at $500 per night and go up to over $7000.
The interior designs are luxurious, romantic, warm and inviting. The standards in service are impeccable, and the hotel’s restaurants and catering services are five-star quality and will surely satify even the most sensitive palettes.
The function rooms and ballrooms are often booked out for the world’s leading high-profile meetings, conferences and seminars. The hotel’s meeting consultants are very friendly, approachable and organised and will be able to help arrange anything from boardroom meetings to grand balls and ceremonies.
Views from the rooms themselves are not bad, either. With the shimmering lights of busy Tokyo city down below, contrasted by the spaciousness of the rooms themselves. The Peninsula Tokyo is a safe haven for travelers to unwind and relax in no-fuss luxury

never knew folding chairs could be so lush. Hermes has released a crocodile skinned version of their classic Pippa folding chair. The chair is a limited edition furniture piece which is selling for $24,000.
It’s luxurious not only for the obvious matte black crocodile skin, yet also its ebony finish maple plus nickel plated hardware. A real ‘bad ass’ compared to the original Pippa in pear wood and leather, designed by architect Rena Dumas 20 years ago.
Dumas’s inspiration for the original Pippa chair was the 1940s and 50s leather furniture designs of Jean Michel Frank and Paul Dupre-Lafont for Hermes. Dumas’s designs were true to Hermes’ signature look of sleep, contemporary forms with Hermes’ leather and stitching.
Dumas is wife of Hermes President Jean-Louis Dumas-Hermes, and also also designed silver accessories and the interiors of many Hermes boutiques.
At $24,000 I’m not sure if it’s the kind of folding chair you’d simply take out with you on a road trip – unless, maybe, if you were Paris Hilton?

It’s Chinese New Year’s Eve this Sunday night, and just like how Christmas Eve is as important as Christmas Day, many Chinese families now have gathered around and organised reunions as Christmas celebrating families would have on Christmas Eve.
China is one of the emerging and most intruiging economies in the world, and artists in the West can hardly contain their fascination. In this photography series by father and son duo Horst & Danile Zielske, they depict the city of Shanghai as a place “between fiction and reality as the city of tomorrow.”
The prints are exclusive to 20ltd with limited editions available for order, and are the result of 6 years of planning and photographic documentation. Horst and Daniel Zielske are renowned German photographers and have published more than 20 photography books.
If you’re looking for a lush present for a Bladerunner fan, then these prints would definitely suit their tastes.
The prints are 120 cm by 160 cm, and start at £4,100.00

Terrell Owens reportedly bought this five-bedroom home for $3.9 million, had tried to sell it off for $3.4 million, yet nobody has yet made any offers. Now the home has been marked down to $2.96 million, and obviously not being sold for the purposes of making any profits.
Whether it was an unfortunate investment or unfortunate timing for the decision of a sale, only the market and time will tell. It’s possible that it is being highly undervalued and in a few years’ time this estate would be worth it’s original $3.9 million or even higher.
It’s a 5.7 acre estate in Moorestown, New Jersey, with three carparks and the rest of the usual features of a luxury home. Very high ceilings and elegant interior décor. There is a lot of classical Roman/Victorian inspired design throughout the home, all reflecting a lifestyle of luxury. What’s also really great about the home is the amount of large windows, plus the high ceiling, creating an abundance of bright natural lighting.
