If you’re looking for an award-winning running shoe this Christmas, Porsche Design’ Bounce:S should be at the top of your shopping list. The shoe was awarded a placement in Time magazine’s “50 Best Inventions of the Year 2008.” It also won the Plus X Award 2008 and the Red Dot Design Award 2008.
The press release boasts:
“The premium running shoe is characterized by a technical metal spring damping and a purist mesh fabric that makes up the upper of the shoe. Whereas traditional shoes drain your energy with thick, dense foam, the Bounce:S suspension system – developed by Adidas – returns more of the energy for a smooth, stable ride.”
Porsche has also released a ‘Golden Christmas’ collection of accessories this season, adding rose gold as a unique touch to many of its men’s accessories including watches, cufflinks and sunglasses.
Porsche Design products are designed from their Austrian headquarters.
All products now available at Porsche Design stores worldwide.
Soon-to-be-Mommy and Ugly Betty star Rebecca Romijn just finished decorating a luxury nursery for the twins she’ll be expecting any day now. With the help of interior designer Joseph Wahl, Romijn’s nursery features “custom-made $1,000 Bella Notte silk crib sheets, Bella Notte Linens window shades worth $1,200 and two $500 Jenny Lind cribs.”
Romijn and husband Jerry O’Connell also spent $350 on baby loungers, found rare antique and vintage items such as mirrors, glass doorknobs and rugs.
“The nursery theme fits perfectly with the couple’s 20s-style cabin. It looks fantastic. I am thrilled for them,” said Wahl.
No exact figure has been announced as to how much a luxury baby nursery may cost.
Yet for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s twins they came up with a $144,109 figure with the help of Los Angeles baby boutique Petit Tresor.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony – also expecting twins! (What is with the water in Hollywood?) – have ordered a $51,468 nursery, also from Petit Tresor.
Women’s golfing champion Annika Sorenstam is in Malaysia right now helping design 18 out of a total of 63 holes on the planned luxury development, Mines Golf City. The development will encompass over 2,100 acres of land near Bukit Beruntung.
“I am proud to be involved with such a world-class development. They have cleared two holes to give me a feel of what’s ahead. My hope is to capture the natural character of the landscape and the end product is to give every golfer a test to remember,” said Sorenstam.
With 72 LPGA Tour wins under her belt, Sorenstam is planning to retire after next week’s professional tournament in Dubai.
The Miles Golf City is a development by Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew, found of Mines, who says his mission is to create a golfing community comparable to the Mission Hills in China.
“There have been no new golf projects in the last 10 years but I believe this will work. It is also a great honour to have Annika accept my invitation to help in the project,” said Yew.
With over 1,000 news stories from my Googled search results alone, I am sure you are not surprised that we at LushBling feel the need to cover this story as well.
It’s a wonder the Harry Winston website doesn’t have a huge ‘In Mourning’ banner across it. The total loss of items has been estimated at $102 million. That’s enough to buy at least 5 Rancho Mirages.
“The police said that at least four people were involved in the robbery of Harry Winston, which is on a street of deluxe shops near the Champs Élysées that is crowded with boutiques for Chanel, Dior and Gucci. Around closing time at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, the thieves entered and confronted 15 employees. At least two of the robbers were dressed in wigs and women’s clothes, while a fourth accomplice apparently waited outside as the getaway driver.”
The crazy thing is – I’ll bet, anyway – some Hollywood studio is probably already bidding for the rights to this script. (Ooh, did I just imply a lush investment? *…sshhhh*)
There’s going to be a new ‘Must Have’ phone in town, and it doesn’t start with ‘Apple’.
Nokia has just recently pictures and videos of its latest baby, the N97, which it boasts to be “the world’s most advanced mobile computer.”
The phone has a 3.5 touch-screen, slide-out Qwerty keyboard, 5.0 megapixel camera, 48GB of memory, and is able to flash Flash videos from many websites. Fast access to the Internet was at the heart of its design.
“From the desktop to the laptop and now to your pocket, the Nokia N97 is the most powerful, multi-sensory mobile computer in existence,” said Jonas Geust, Vice President, heading Nokia Nseries. “Together with the Ovi services announced today, the Nokia N97 mobile computer adjusts to the world around us, helping stay connected to the people and things that matter most. With the Nokia N97, Nseries leads the charge in helping to transform the Internet into your Internet”.
There is also an in-built GPS system which not only tells the user where they are, but is also to inform where their friends may be as well. This service, Nokia calls “social location” as the expectations are that the friends will update their social networking profiles with their locations.
The phone is expected to be available for shipping during the first half of 2009, costing at around EUR 550.
