Today Porsche revealed their new-generation Boxster and Cayman models at a press conference during the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The new Boxster and Cayman are now more fuel efficient and aesthetically more refined than all previous models. Both have added new standard and optional features.
“We wanted to celebrate their worldwide premiere here in Los Angeles since it is, by far, the city with the highest population of Boxsters and Caymans anywhere,” said Porsche CEO Detlev von Platen.
“The new base engine in these models is a 2.9 liter flat six cylinder that develops 255 hp in the Boxster and 265 hp in the Cayman, representing an increase in power of 10 hp and 20 hp, respectively, over the preceding models. The 3.4 liter power unit in the S versions, which benefits from Porsche’s Direct Fuel Injection (DFI), now delivers 310 hp in the Boxster S and 320 hp in the Cayman S.”
The new models will be available for order from March 2009.

Churches may not be what people usually have in mind when they think ‘luxury hotel,’ yet that in itself is the genius behind the idea for the Kruisherenhotel in Maastricht, Netherlands.
What was once a monastery in the 15th century is now a breathtaking fusion of tradition and modernity. The hotel presents its visitors with the splendour of the historical exterior, the stained glass windows and the light shining through, reflected onto modern furnishings as well as newly renovated spaces for dining and other activities.
There is a glass elevator that connects the original church to the monastery area. The whole estate now hosts 60 rooms filled with modern furnishings, conference rooms, library, boutique and coffee bar. The beautiful monastery gardens have always been an attraction as “a haven in the midst of a vibrant city center.”
Maastricht is a simple train ride away from Brussels and Amsterdam, and also has train routes between London, Paris and other German stations.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a big fan of beautiful faucets. Maybe it is a bit of the ‘desperate housewife’ in me? (Not that I am even a housewife, but from watching the show, I feel totally empathetic to all housewives.)
A beautiful faucet in a beautiful bathroom or kitchen, always makes your honoured guests feel happy and comfortable with their stay.
These latest designs by German company Jörger are modern and brilliant, and come in a whole selection of colour combinations.
From such a humble company history of the original Bernhard Jörger, working as a plumber for the Grand Duke Friedrich II of Baden in 1909, to the current reputation for exclusive designer bathroom fittings, the Jörger label is now synonymous with luxury and fine craftsmenship.
Other ranges available by Jörger are just as impeccably crafted and represent their philosophy of “harmoniously matching design.” Jörger encourages its customers to be highly involved with the design process, in order to match the finished product to exactly what you had in mind.
