LushStays: Presidential Suite at Hotel Principe di Savoia, Milan

If you’ve got €15,000 (per night!) to spare on your next trip to Milan, why not enjoy a luxurious swim in your personal Ancient Roman thermal bath as part of your stay at the Hotel Principe di Savoia’s one and only Presidential Suite.

The suite has been a temporary second home to some of the world’s most powerful and influential people, such as HRH Queen Elizabeth II of England, George Clooney, Lenny Kravitz and Woody Allen. It comes with one, two or three bedroom options – totalling over 500 square metres.

It’s got the Italian charm of intricately designed and decorated furnishings, beautiful boiserieeffects on the first bedroom’s walls, and view of the famous Bagatelle Gardens in the second bedroom. The Master bedroom has its own Jacuzzi, plasma ‘all in one’ which transforms itself into a mirror, PC, Media centre, home theatre and iPod.

The private swimming-pool really does have to be the signature feature, though. With dolphin mosaics, polychrome marble tiles, sauna and Turkish bath – need I say more?

Antique Bling: Collectibles from Ralph Lauren Vintage Gift Collection

In a dilemma about what to give your friend who has everything for Christmas? Ralph Lauren has a collection of one-of-a-kind vintage items that were hand-picked for their beauty and enduring style.

The chrome race car (shown above) was one of the last cars created by illustrious model car designer Herb Singe. This collectible is gas-powered and fully-functional, with moving parts similar to a vintage racer. Cost: $ 7,850.

This circa 1950s Tiffany & Co. desk set contains a sectional tray, a glass inkwell, a stationary stand, a business card holder and a paper clip. Crafted from sterling silver, each item has an inscription with the Tiffany seal. Cost: $ 4,200.

From the house of Hermes in France comes this rare silver-plated envelope box circa 1950. The top of the box is stamped with the shape of an envelope, the interior lined in wood and the Hermes signature imprinted at the back. Cost: $ 3,150.

This circa 1930s desk ornament shows two bomber planes in flight. One plane is made of aluminum while the other is of black Bakelite plastic. Cost: $ 1,950.

Another original from Hermes is this silver-plated letter opener designed as a belt strap circa 1950. This “belt” comes complete with a loop, three holes and a pointed tip. The Hermes signature monogram at the back assures you of this item’s authenticity. Cost: $ 1,600.

All items are exclusively available at Ralph Lauren.

LushThreads: Comme des Garcons for H&M

After its celebrated collaborations with the likes of Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld and Roberto Cavalli, fashion giant H&M debuted its Comme des Garçons for H&M collection in Tokyo last week. Hundreds lined up to witness and experience for themselves how mainstream commercial H&M and progressive design vanguard Rei Kawakubo of CdG would merge for this line.

The line’s twenty pieces for men and thirty pieces for women are a testament to Kawakubo’s individualistic style and painstakingly precise tailoring. All patterns and samples for the line were created by Kawakubo herself. Some of the pieces carry the designer’s trademark patchwork and polka-dots lending eccentricity to the predominantly black pieces.

On model at left: dress – JPY 59990 (US$ 613), shirt – JPY 7990 (US$ 82); on model at right: trench coat – JPY 23990 (US$ 245), shorts – JPY 12990 (US$ 133), shirt – JPY 7990 (US$ 82)

On model at left: suit – JPY 49990 (US$ 511), shirt – JPY 9990 (US$ 102); on model at right: cardigan – JPY 9990 (US$ 102), shirt – JPY 3990 (US$ 40), shorts – JPY 3990 (US$ 40)

While some items are in the lower price level in keeping with H&M’s mass market, some pieces of high-quality fabrics are quite expensive. H&M’s attempt at “massclusivity” – striking a balance between their mass market and exclusivity of the limited edition – has been proven profitable with their previous collaborations selling out in a matter of hours.

Comme des Garçons for H&M is now available at the newly-opened H&M stores in Ginza and Harajuku, both in Tokyo. The rest of the world will have to wait until November 13 to experience this cutting-edge limited edition line.

LushStays: Setai South Beach, Miami Penthouse

Just as we had recently reported on the Setai in San Diego, its sister hotel The Setai South Beach, Miami has released some photos showing all the unique features of its exclusive penthouse.

There is a gorgeous lap pool with stunning sky views, modern interiors with as-promised zen-like sensitivities. The pool is stainless steel with waterfall feature, and a raised coral stone-encased hot tub.

Mixtures of cool and warm colors in the furnishings, and expansive oceanic views. The interior boasts what is known haute-Asian aesthetic, with its blend of exotic woods and modern luxe finishes.

The recording studio is the most impressive of all the penthouse’s features – a sure hit with music celebrities such as Lenny Kravitz, who actually designed the studio. Other technology included are LCD touch panel screens for adjusting lighting and audio-visuals.

At $30,000 per night, the Setai South Beach, Miami penthouse is ranked the No. 3 most expensive hotel room in the world.

Lush Promotions: A Lamborghini with your Real Estate purchase

Only seven South of Fifth Miami oceanfront estates remain for sale, and developer Michael Samuel has decided what better way to give the buyer more incentive than to offer a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder FREE WITH PURCHASE.

“There is simply no other development like South of Fifth,” says Michael Samuel, principle of Samuel & Co., “and no other vehicle like Lamborghini. Melding the two is the ideal live/drive marriage for a very discriminating consumer.”

Lamborghini Miami owner, Brett David said, “The fusion of Lamborghini Miami and South of Fifth provides what the luxury connoisseur is looking for from every aspect.”

South of Fifth is an urban community located south of Fifth Street. It boasts itself as an alternative to high-rise luxury living, with courtyard-style constructions, private elevators, open-air kitchens and smart living platforms. All with oceanfront.

Prices range between $6 to $8 million per estate. Options range from penthouses to beach villas, to three or four bedroom beachfront units with maids quarters. Areas between 2,500 to 6,200 square feet.
