Now you know it has to be good when the suites are classed from Standard, to Wonderful, to Fantastic, Marvellous, Wow, and then, the cherry on top, Extreme Wow.
The Extreme Wow suite features panoramic, floor to ceiling views of Hong Kong harbour, 65” plasma, iPod docking station, and a 20” LCD TV in the bathroom.
The W Hong Kong hotel itself has world-class spa, gym, pool and bars. There are a variety of function areas and conference rooms with modern facilities and sophisticated audio-visual technology.
It was only last month that the W Hong Kong of W Hotels Worldwide opened its doors in the Hong Kong luxury hotel market.
“Hong Kong’s dynamic mix of style, culture and modern design make it the perfect backdrop for the W brand. The abundance of world-class restaurants, art galleries and luxury retailers in the city contribute to Hong Kong’s emergence as a vibrant international business and leisure destination,” said Eva Ziegler, Global Brand Leader, W Hotels Worldwide and Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts.
Supermodels, movie stars, pop icons – some of the sexiest ladies in the world are about to be up for auction at Christie’s in London on November 19th, in the form of oversized photography prints.
Possibly the most expensive piece of the beautiful ladies will be the Angelina Jolie with Blood, by Martin Shoeller, estimated to sell at anywhere between $23,000 to $39,000 (£15,000 – £25,000).
A nude Kate Moss by Albert Watson is hoping to be sold off at around $23,000 to $31,000 (£15,000 – £20,000).
An especially cheeky looking pre-baby Britney Spears photography by David LaChapelle is also up for auction at around $23,000 to $31,000 (£15,000 – £20,000).
At the ‘lower’ end of the spectrum is a Giselle Bundchen piece by Mark Seliger, estimated at about $9,000 to $12,000 (£6,000 – £8,000).
Other ladies of note whose photographs will be up for auction include: Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima, film actress and model James King, supermodels Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford.
Sometimes – and I’m talking, on the very odd occasion – Sartorialites do get a whiff of guilt for all their un-environmentally friendly forms of conspicuous consumption. Yet, still… doesn’t everyone deserve owning something gorgeous and wonderful if they can afford it?
Well, what if you could mix the two – something which reduces your carbon footprint and yet is still luxurious in the sense of unique design and artistic aesthetic?
Enter please, exhibit: Kate Cusack Zipper Jewelry.
With retail prices between $400 to $1000, this form of ‘recycled jewelry’ isn’t exactly the kind of ‘design student school project’ sold off at a ‘Trash or Treasure’ marketplace. Each necklace is uniquely handsewn and no two pieces are alike. Kate Cusak’s artistic eye is flawless and undeniably elegant.
Cusack’s zipper jewelry was first noticed in 2002 when she was a window dresser at the 5th Avenue Tiffany & Co. store. Having made a zipper pin to wear on her own outfit, her superiors noticed, and so began the work with zippers and luxury jewelry design.
The Commonage Villas in Queenstown, New Zealand is one of the newest and most exclusive luxury accommodation resorts in the Southern Hemisphere. For a getaway that is secluded, snowy and serene, you could not have found a more suitable sanctuary.
The development won the 2009 Architecture Award for the Otago Southland region, as part of the Residential Architecture Multiple Housing category. It was voted the “finest, most high quality and visibly stunning development out of all entries in the category” by the New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA) and a panel of judges.
There are 14 villas, each made of natural materials which fit the majestic mountain ranges and Lake Wakatipu landscape perfectly. “Outside and in, guests recognise the quality of the design and build, the attention to detail and their international appeal,” said Jessica Trimming, Marketing Manager.
The development was designed New Zealand company Mason & Wales Architects of Dunedin.
