Home décor has the potential of being exotic, unique and plush and the variety and the range of styles and designs give the home owner a wide choice of the best and most luxurious décor furnishings to give the home a plush and classy look.

The home owner who is a connoisseur of all things exclusive and stylish is always on the look out for an unusual piece of furniture which will look great and give the home a chic look, one that is will make it stand out among other homes. Sebastian Errazuriz , an artist of Chilean origin who has to his credit a number of eye catching designs like the zipper dress and the teddy bear coat and is famous for his out-of-this-world designs and pieces of art has one more feather in his cap – ‘Metamorphosis’.

True to his style and the art environment that he has imbibed, Sebastian Errazuriz has created a very artistic functional piece, a bookshelf named ‘Metamorphosis’. The bookshelf is reminiscent of the artist’s remembrance of the ivy covered garden plot at his grandmother’s home.
Just as ivy hangs on to and runs along the walls of a house, the bookshelf has been designed to give the same feeling. The bookshelf sits snugly against the wall and the bare branches stretch out along the wall and can be used to place books on them.

The sculpture is carved out from Baltic Birch plywood which is an expensive wood used for exclusive designs and art pieces. The bookshelf has been handcrafted by Horm, the Italian company which deals in handcrafting exclusive pieces.
This bookshelf is considered to be the most expensive piece in the world and will be put up for public viewing in New York at the Christina Grajales Gallery as a part of the exhibition ‘beautiful premonitions’ which will showcase the artist’s works.
