Beautiful Zen Home in LA

It took a $150,000 recreation of late artist Benji Okubo’s Zen-inspired retreat on top of Mt Washington to create this LA home. Not a detail was overlooked for full zen vibe and tranquil atmosphere, with cherry hardwood flooring, bamboo window trims and grass-cloth wallpaper.
Modern technology remains along with the other-worldly haven of relaxation, though, of course. With a double-door stainless steel fridge and modern borealis granite counters in the kitchen.
Three rooms in the home have a waterfall view – the master, kitchen and second bathroom. There is a moon doorway created by a neighbor’s pool, which gradually molded a clear-grain flat redwood circular shape. An indoor waterfall is also present; in fact a total of eight waterfalls exist on the entire property.
There are gorgeous and serene rockscapes, led to by cobblestone pathways. The home does feel more like a retreat than a family home, yet amazingly has enough space and the organisation of separators makes it very suitable for family living.
