From November 21 to 22, the Pearl Qatar in Dubai will be hosting the Supercar Show, an exhibition of the world’s top luxury and super cars.

Other luxury lifestyle items such as yachts, pro golf simulator tournaments, fashion and jewelry will also be at the exhibition.

The Pearl Qatar is one of the most luxurious places to be in Dubai right now. “This is the Middle East’s most glamorous address where Pearlesque names, crafted from an intriguing mix of Italian, French, Spanish and Arabic, summon up the charm of the old world, and the spirit of the new.”

LushGifts: Saks Fifth Avenue’s Designer Luxuries for Christmas

Comments (0) by Maudrey

With a Christmas gift list that seems to get longer year after year, we’re going to need some help with those special women on our list whom we can’t decide what to get for the holidays. So we sought out our favorite posh retail store, Saks Fifth Avenue, and found these irresistible designer pieces.

Jimmy Choo Saba Patchwork Hobo - $ 3,395; Christian Louboutin Ankle Boots - $ 1,555

The patchwork hobo with metal, enamel and leather ring accents and goldtone hardware is by Jimmy Choo. The exterior is a mix of two snakeskin species while the interior is lined in ultra-rich suede. The Christian Louboutin “Arielle A Talon” platform bootie is done in python and lined in supple leather.

Emilio Pucci Down Jacket - $ 1,420; Prada Puffer Jacket - $ 1,990

This stylish jacket from Emilio Pucci is perfect for those ski trips to Vail or Aspen. It will serve you well when you’re on the slopes and it’s fashionable enough for when you’re doing some retail therapy in town. The nylon puffer jacket by Prada has a nylon belt, a detachable hood and a luxurious fox fur trim.

Ippolita Turquoise Bangle - $ 2,950; Phillip Stein Double Diamond Watch - $ 2,515

The bangle by Ippolita is chic and glamorous in its simplicity. The nine turquoise stones that make up this accessory will add style even to the simplest outfit. This Phillip Stein Diamond Watch merges beauty and well-being with its unique technology that increases the wearer’s resistance to stress. The beauty of this watch lies, however, in the flawless diamonds that pave its dial weighing over 1 carat.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Top 5 Luxury Cars of 2009

NADAguides.com just came out with their Top 5 Luxury Cars for 2009 report. The five exceptionally honoured vehicles are: 2009 Audi A8 L, 2009 Jaguar XF Supercharged, 2009 Mercedes-Benz S Class 550, 2009 Hyundai Genesis, and 2009 Bentley Arnage.

Weird part about this ‘luxury’ car report is that cars such as the 2009 Hyundai Genesis starts at $32,250. Has the bar for ‘luxury’ dropped or has the world become so poor that $32,250 now seems like a luxurious price?

Every car on the Top 5 list except the Bentley starts at a price less than $100,000. And, starting at $224,900 Bentley was actually fifth of the Top 5 luxury cars. Apparently you don’t need to pay too much to be in the lap of luxury any longer.

Hyundai Genesis would definitely have to be the crème-de-la-crème of value for money, as it was even up against the Porsche Boxster and the BMW 750i for the prestigious placement in the Top 5 rankings.

LushScents: New Givenchy Fragrance ‘Be Givenchy’

Comments (0) by Nicole.C

From January 2009, Givenchy’s exclusive travel retail fragrance Be Givenchy will be available for purchase. The scent is made up of lime, ginger, morelly cherry – as top notes – plus heart of honeysuckle, jasmine and orange flower in the middle, with base scents of cedar, amber and musk.

The result is a very girly, pretty smell that is said to be an “audacious fragrance for the modern-day Lolita.” The ad campaign is very romantic and indeed connotes a Lolita sort of sexuality with the model in a school-girl like outfit of white blouse, black skirt and white socks.

“The overall effect is designed to be assertive, candid and seductive.”

It’s just a bit weird how she is obviously so much larger than the elegant little French-antique style chair she is posing next to. That doesn’t quite connote Lolita then so much as overgrown girl trying to blend in with a small world?

LushProfits: Burberry Rising

Comments (0) by Nicole.C

Burberry has experienced a 20 per cent revenue increase in the six months to September 30. All their regions except for Spain showed growth, particularly in Korea, Singapore and Australia.

Now they are expanding into the Middle East with a new company, Burberry Middle East LLC, as part of a joint venture with the Jashanmal Group. The Middle Eastern Burberry headquarters will be in Dubai, as it manages all retail and whole distribution throughout the United Arab Emirates. Apparently the agreement is to last fifteen years.

“The fundamentals of Burberry remain strong, despite the current very challenging environment. With our supply chain and IT investments we are now in a position to drive significant efficiencies in the near term. These benefits underpin our confidence in the future long-term growth of Burberry,” said CEO Angela Ahrendts.

Despite the increase, however, predictions are that there will be a slowdown for the next period as with other luxury brands.
